2011 BC Time Trial Championships

A great day for club riders as a total of 14 riders went down for an extremely tough course on the old lake cowichan road.
In the U13 men class Mark Grant (Team Trail Bikes Eatmore Sprouts) took the win over 20km in 36:14 with Isaac Van der Vliet coming in 5th at 43:23.

In the U15 womens class Gillian completed the 20km in 34:05 to take 1st, Kia Van der Vliet took third with a time of 36:12.
In the U15mens James Grant (Team Trail Bikes Eatmore Sprouts) took third with a time of 35:54, with Max Andrew in 4th with a time of 39:08.
In the U17 mens class the club swept the podium with Andrew Grant (Team Trail Bikes Eatmore Sprouts) taking first in 29:30, Thomas andrew in 31:13, Jake Van der Vliet in 31:37.
In the U19 class Nigel Ellsay (Team Trail Bikes Eatmore Sprouts) took first over 40km with a time of 57:06, and Jordan Duncan in third with 60:33.
In cat3 mens Doug Merrick (Team Trail Bikes Eatmore Sprouts) took 6th with a time of 62:4.
In citizen Jeff Matell took 4th with a time of 63:05.
After the time trial there was a Team Time Trial with Nigel Ellsay, Jordan Duncan, Jeff Matell, and Doug Merrick competing in. In the run-in to the finish Doug Merrick was dropped and Nigel, Jordan, and Jeff completed the 20km course 29:36.

A BIG thanks to everyone who lent out gear to all the juniors, the club junior program is showing great results provincially thanks to everyone's generousity!
A big thanks to TripleShot Cycling Club for stepping in in the 11th hour to put on this event.
And lastly, a BIG thanks to John Van der Vliet for helping to organize all the juniors for this event, this is the third year he has done so, and his amazing bike mechanic skills and tireless dedication allowed all the juniors to have an excellent race day!
